Clipper Race FAQs

Clipper Race FAQs

Find out more about the event and why I am doing it with these handy Clipper Race FAQs.

How long is the Clipper Round the World Race?

The race itself is expected to take 11 months, along with 4 weeks’ training in 2024. It’s approximately 225 days at sea and 330 days including port stops.

How much does it cost to do the Clipper Round the World Race?

An adventure of this calibre does not come cheap. The estimated cost is NZD250,000, including race entry, flights, and accommodation at each of the port cities.

That’s why I need your help!

Why should I fund you?

While it may sound like a self indulgent trip, I plan to use this adventure to give back.

At each port, I will be taking part in community projects with UNICEF. Once I have enough donations and sponsors to complete the race, I will then start fundraising.

I also plan to put 50% of yacht club sponsorships towards local community projects, chosen by the clubs themselves.

I hope that my journey will inspire others to face challenges head-on and follow their dreams.

If I can do something like this, then you can too.

Where does the Clipper Race go?

The race starts and ends in the UK with stops in Uruguay, South Africa, Australia (West and East Coasts), China, USA (West and East Coast via the Panama Canal), and Ireland. The final route for the 2025/26 race is yet to be confirmed.
